The Classic Daiquiri
The Daiquiri was supposedly created by a mining engineer working in Cuba around 1896. He was entertaining important guests and his supplies of gin had run out and so he improvised with rum and created this classic cocktail.
Ingredients:
- Cracked Ice
- Juice of 2 limes
- 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup
- 3 measures (45 ml each) of white rum
- 1 slice of lemon to garnish
Serves: 1
Put lots of cracked ice into a coctail shaker. Pour the lime juice, sugar syrup and rum over the ice. Shake thoroughly until a frost forms. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with slice of lemon.
Cheers!
