My sister has a spot of shopping to do in Crawford Market so I played hookey from work yesterday and willingly went to town. Oh anything to take in the sights, sounds and smells of Town! I even enjoy the bus ride to town :)

My first stop was St. Xavier’s College. While I had agreed to meet my sister there I skipped along early to catch up with some old faculty friends! While I don’t miss being in Xavier’s I always feel a sense of nostalgia when I go back ….. You know a whole flood of memories of the 5 years I spent there. The happy times and the not so happy times (yup there were a few of those too). Anyway back to the present. I had agreed to meet Kevin so to the 4th floor I went. But the poor man was really harrowed with a lot of formatting work he was doing so decided not to trouble him too much and set of on a round of the college. Peso as usual was extremely busy. My sis was still stuck in the Heras Institute doing reference so decided to make a visit to the chapel and then take a walk to Chimanlal’s.

I picked up the paper for my Christmas cards at Chimanlal’s. Decided to get cracking on those before the painting begins. Also picked up some pretty cards and gift tags which I could use as stocking fillers for Christmas. Picked up a few second hand books on the way back to college where I met my sister and we set off to Crawford Market.

We made a not so quick round of Crawford where we picked up gloves for my sis (she’s heading north on a vacation….the lucky thing) and a whole lot of odds and ends. Also managed to get the ribbon for the invitation cards. We were quite hungry by this time so has a snack of Sev Puri knowing fully well if we eat anything more we will have to face the music at home for not having lunch there!
After the shopping there was one place I still had to go to and this is a place I really love going -the Post Office. In a time where the internet is such a convenient medium of sending and receiving mail, I love the special charm of snail mail. So next time you want to get me super excited send me some mail via the Indian Post! Anyway, I promised M that I’d get her card to the USA franked so that there was no fear of the stamps being stolen and hence the card not reaching. As usual the franking machine was not working, so had to put on some stamps and coax the lady at the counter to stamp them so that I was surer that the card would in fact reach.

After a relatively hot morning (a lot of walking after a looooooong time) we headed home and gobbled down lunch at 4.30.

I managed  to get a few winks of sleep before I realised it was time to meet Michelle and Chetna at Bandra for an evening of ‘looking to see if I find a  nice dress’. The rain suddenly decided to play spoilsport so disrupted our plan, Chetna had to head home and I got a dunking! Anyway the good thing is that I did try on a lovely black number. Maybe I’ll get a chance to wear it soon :P
