A trip to Bandra by boat!

I missed the last youth trip on Vaibhav’s fishing boat as I had journal completion. He promised another trip and this time I made sure I was on that boat. The trip was scheduled for 11 this morning. However it was going to be low tide at that time and so Vaibhav rescheduled for 3 this afternoon. We met in church and walked to Worli Koliwada to take the boat. From this vantage point one can see the entire Bandra - Worli Sealink work in progress. It has been a few years since I’ve been to this end of Worli and the volume of work that has been completed on this project amazes me. I took along my camera hoping I’d get some good shots of the bridge. I was not disappointed

We reached the place where we needed to hop into the boat and discovered that the water at that point was ankle deep and the ground slippery. So I had no option but to wade in shoes and all Missed falling right back into the water (ans taking Salu with me) when I lost my footing while getting into the boat. The going was good -with the boat speeding, water spraying, the company entertaining and me snapping away to my heart’s content.

Then came the moment I was dreading all along. I started to feel really queasy - this inspite of the fact that I took Avomine to calm my tummy (thanx Sheldon for being so thoughtful). I managed to hold the feeling at bay by closing my eyes and breathing deeply. However my luck ran out and I threw up into the ocean. But then did feel better and enjoyed the rest of the ride. However I’m going to have to live with the teasing for some time. Thankfully public memory is short!

Benjamin decided to scare us by jumping into the water - the depth of which was misjudged by him and started to go under. I shudder to think of what might have happened had Loges not gone to his rescue.

We then went to Vaibhav’s house for some refreshments before heading home. Dunked my shoes and clothes in dettol to get rid of the fish smell.

Overall it was a fun trip and I’d do it again anytime
